The article, 5 Important Things That You Should Do In 2017, listed some amazing things that we should try to do.
Did you read it? If you didn’t, you certainly need to. You will be surprised to know about some of the simple things that we fail to do.
I made it a point of duty to do the 5 things listed in the article, and the truth is, they have indeed added blessings to my life.
It is now 2018 and there are 5 things that we all have been doing, that will stop us from growing if we continue doing them.
So, without further chatting, let’s take a look at these 5 dangerous 2018 growth stoppers!
1. Will Tomorrow Come?
What if tomorrow never comes?
Waiting for tomorrow is the reason why so many people have laid back attitudes. They keep waiting and hoping that tomorrow will be a better day for them to push forward.
But the challenge in waiting until tomorrow is that, when it finally arrives, it is called today. My advice to you is to do what you can today! Stop thinking about tomorrow and make use of today.
Furthermore, if you waste today, you will waste tomorrow just the same, and you will keep on waiting for the next tomorrow to come.
2. Am I Thinking Too Small?
You have heard it before, but I will say it again, you are what you think you are. Believe it or not! Whatever you tell yourself, about yourself, that is who you are.
Shift your focus from short-term goals to long-term goals. By creating short-term habits you will reach your long-term goals. So do something each day that will enhance your growth.
Stop playing and thinking small. Brush off your shoes and step out of your comfort zone, because outside is where the magic happens.
3. Should I ask Questions?
Do not be afraid to ask questions.
You need knowledge from others to broaden your horizon. You do not know it all. Furthermore, life is a learning process, and in order for growth to take place, you have to ask questions.
Remember also that, you are not the only one asking questions. Millions of people worldwide ask questions because they need answers just like you.
4. Should My Answer Be Yes or No?
No matter what you think, and no matter how strong you feel, you cannot do everything.
Don’t readily agree to things you do not want to do just because you want to be liked or accepted. This will only cause you stress. Additionally, saying yes to everything will only make others use and take disadvantage of you.
Learn to say no in a kind way, instead of saying yes to everything.
5. Toxic Environment: Should I stay?
You will not grow in a toxic environment!
Whether it’s your home or work, you will become stagnant. Also, when you are surrounded by everything toxic you will lose your self-worth.
Staying in a toxic environment is not good for your health neither for your personal growth because everything around you will be negative.
If the opportunity does not present itself for you to move away from the toxic environment, remind yourself each day that you are not a reflection of what is happening around you.
Key Takeaway: Stop waiting on tomorrow to do what can be done today. Stop playing or thinking small because you are more than what you think you are; think BIG! You cannot do everything, so learn to say NO. Finally, don’t be afraid to ask questions and stay away from toxic environments.
If you have a few more that can be added to the list, I would love to hear them. In fact, I know that you have some of your very own, why not share them with us below?

I like your blog! I have a personal development blog as well. http://Www.timetobefearless.com. To make sure I am improving and growing I do at least one thing every day that I know my future self will thank me for . Including things like learning something new every day, exercising or traveling to a new destination… even if it’s just a different store or restaurant. There is always something new to take away .😊

When you say “toxic environment” does this also apply to toxic friends? Would a messy apartment count as being toxic?

Yes Hillary, to an extent, a messy apartment is toxic. For us to stay focus, we need a clean environment. Thanks for asking, let me know your thoughts.

Prior to packing for a trip, I ended up cleaning up the apartment and donating 2 bags of stuff. I also managed to toss some lesser quality things and replaced them with higher quality items I actually like. In the future I will aim for quality of quantity 🙂
