Shifting Your Focus

Inviting God to be a part of our plans (1)

Sometimes we find ourselves in situations in which we feel trapped. We feel as though our world is crushing in on us with various obstacles blocking our paths; leaving us with no way out.

We make plans that seem to be going nowhere so we tossed and turned at nights wondering what to do, what road to take and what choice to make. Should we give up?

NO!  Never should we allow obstacles or stumbling blocks to stop us from  STOP PUSHING . The moment we give in to them, we become powerless.

In times like these we just need to start shifting our focus.

Shifting our focus doesn’t mean that we are giving up on our dreams or our goals. It means that:

  • We are weeding and rooting out every obstacles and every stumbling blocks that are standing in our way.
  • We stop holding on to plans that are not working and stop believing that there is only one way to achieve a specific goal.
  • We are reshuffling those plans, eliminating the ones that are stagnant and start focusing on the ones that are workable.

But most of all, shifting our focus also means:

Inviting God to be a part of our plans

Yes, too many times our hearts are troubled when we do not achieve a certain result. We become agitated, nervous and start giving ourselves unnecessary stress. This is simple because we planned without God. We planned without even conversing with him.  When in fact all we had to do was to approach God in prayer and ask for his guidance and direction.

We cannot do it all on our own. Not at all. Remember that the plans we have may not be the right ones for us. God knows best. So we have to pray and ask him to direct our paths, ask him for wisdom, knowledge and understanding then let go and let him lead the way.

Finally friends, trust in the Lord with all your heart: do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Let us not be afraid of shifting our focus, keep on pushing, and remove all obstacles from our way. Also, let us make God be a part of our plans because he is the only true source that will give us positive direction and guidance in our lives.
